Hi there, I am a location sound recordist, otherwise known as a production sound mixer, for documentaries, TV commercials, TV dramas and feature films, as well as national and international corporate videos (see Work History for further detail). I am based out of Auckland, New Zealand and have traveled and worked throughout New Zealand, Australia, America and most of the major South Pacific Islands, such as Samoa, Fiji, Rarotonga, and Tahiti. I have worked in the film and television industry for 15 years and I can honestly say that I still go to work every day with a smile on my face! Every day to me is challenging and interesting in one way or another. Over the years my work has been varied and can be very different from one day to the next. It is important for me to be very flexible in the way I work and with the equipment I choose to use to capture the best sound possible for every individual production. I own an extensive amount of high quality equipment as you will see by my Equipment List. I have a full feature film package, a full documentary package, I own and have available to me playback equipment suitable for just about every size venue. I own and have available to me live band mixing and recording equipment suitable for the average size band. |
If you are coming to New Zealand to shoot and you need help with finding a cameraman, crew, equipment or even locations, I can help you with organizing all this before you even arrive in the country. After working in the New Zealand film industry for so long I have built up a number of contacts and know a lot of talented and highly skilled people, and I have organized shoots before for other overseas companies such as the IVECO All Black Rugby series 2007 and 2008. But it is people that have always been important to me and I see as a very important part of my job, whether it is the people on the production team, the people we are making the documentaries about or the presenters and actors in front of the camera. It is important to me that people feel comfortable and relaxed around me and confident in my experience and ability to do the best job possible.
